The BASIS system is a modular building system that delivers versatility through its simplicity. It has been developed by C2C based on its previous involvement in modular construction spanning thirty years and involvement in delivering thousands of modular homes to the Australian remote market. The BASIS system is a complete refinement of that original process.
It sources ‘off the shelf’ components to deliver low cost – local area delivery – setup, avoiding the traditional high-cost – high overhead – centralized factory setup of its competitors.
The BASIS system utilizes low skilled based labour for both its manufacturing and construction phases. This can lead to the development of skills in remote communities to enable further construction programs and maintenance to be handled locally.
Its versatility allows the BASIS system to respond to the needs of varying markets and design requirements, rather than the building design having to adapt to the traditional manufacturing systems.
It delivers high level finishes, with the ability to incorporate differing external treatments, multi-level and raked ceiling construction.
It has been used in extreme conditions such as ski lodges and cyclone areas.
The BASIS system has been tested in a cost and time exercise against a high volume builder and delivered a comparable cost with significant time savings.
